McDonald's Fried Apple Pie Is Back After 30 Years

McDonald's original Fried Apple Pie started in Tennessee in the 1960s and became one of the most beloved items on the menu. In 1992, they quietly swapped it out for a baked version citing health concerns. People never stopped asking for it. Starting June 23, 2026, the original Fried Apple Pie is back at select US locations limited time, made with 100% American grown apples. McDonald's is even building a 35 foot pie monument along Route 66 to celebrate the return.
