Ingredients
For the dough:
2 cups (250 g) all-purpose or bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp instant yeast
¾ cup (180 ml) warm water
1 tbsp olive oil
For the topping:
½ cup pizza sauce
200 g fresh mozzarella, sliced or shredded
Fresh basil leaves
1 tbsp olive oil
Optional: oregano, chili flakes, grated Parmesan
Instructions
Mix the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl.
Add the warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover and let the dough rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 250°C (475–500°F). If you have a pizza stone, heat it in the oven.
Roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle.
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
Add the mozzarella and drizzle with a little olive oil.
Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
Top with fresh basil (and Parmesan or chili flakes if desired) before serving.
Tip: For the crispiest crust, bake on a preheated pizza stone or an upside-down baking tray.
