GREEK FOOD in KATERINI – Incredible Meze, Bougatsa & Souvlaki

Join us as we explore authentic Greek food in Katerini, discovering local meze, traditional bougatsa, freshly roasted coffee, gyros, souvlaki, and some of Katerini’s favourite everyday places.
*1. Rakosylléktes (Οι Πότες της Στρογγυλής Τραπέζης)* is where we begin our Katerini food tour. Hidden beneath the natural shade of large trees, the beautiful garden creates the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed Greek meal. We enjoy a selection of incredible meze dishes prepared with local produce and ingredients, combining simple flavours, freshness and great culinary skills.
*2. Padelis Patisserie* is our next stop for something sweet. With more than 60 years of tradition behind it, this local patisserie serves beautifully prepared cakes and cream-filled desserts that taste as fresh as they look. Soft sponge, rich creams, delicate pastry, and plenty of choice make this a very satisfying end to our first day of eating in Katerini.
*3. Sante Μπουγάτσα Πλατεία* is our first stop the next morning as Katerini comes alive on a busy Monday. We start the day here with a cheese bougatsa before continuing our breakfast journey.
*4. Μπουγάτσα Ο ΣΑΚΗΣ* is right next door, but this is where things get even more traditional. The oldest bougatsa shop in Katerini, it serves an incredibly crispy version filled with feta cheese. Fresh from the oven, salty, flaky, and packed with flavour, this is easily one of the best bougatsa pies ever.
*5. KOMPOTH Kαφές Katerini* Probably the oldest coffee store in town, stepping inside feels like traveling back in time. The shelves are filled with a huge selection of quality coffee, full of rich aroma. This traditional place keeps an important part of everyday Greek life.
*6. Η Παράδοση* is where we finish our Katerini food adventure. This popular local spot is famous for gyros, souvlaki, and a selection of Greek grilled meats. By lunchtime the restaurant becomes incredibly busy, with guests constantly arriving and food coming off the grill without stopping. Juicy meat, fresh pita, salads and that unmistakable Greek grill flavour make it the perfect place to finish our food tour.
