Today we witnessed one of the most intense Hindu festival traditions we’ve ever seen in Sri Lanka.
During the festival, devotees take part in incredible acts of faith and devotion, including being suspended using hooks. What shocked us even more was seeing a 12-year-old taking part in the tradition.
We wanted to experience this festival properly, understand why people do it, speak with the locals and see what this deeply rooted tradition means to the community.
This was definitely one of the craziest and most unforgettable experiences from our time travelling around Sri Lanka.
