I kept seeing the new Big Arch burger from McDonald’s everywhere, so I tried making one at home to see if it’s actually worth the hype. Instead of smashing the burgers in the pan, I used a tortilla press to make perfect thin patties every time. Then I stacked them with lettuce, onions, pickles, crispy onions, and a homemade version of the Big Arch sauce. The result tastes like a fast-food burger… but way fresher. And the crazy part is this burger comes out to about 820 calories and 50 grams of protein, which is pretty close to the McDonald’s version but with better ingredients.
