Recipe:
Ice made or bought (about 7-12 lbs on safe side)
Rock salt (about 1 cup rock salt to 5 cups ice )
1 cup chilled water
2 cups milk
1 cup half and half
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cups room temperature (stirred) blackberry jam
Mix the milk, half and half, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla , blackberry jam and salt in a chilled bowl
Pour into the freezer container and put the container in the mixer
Add ice 2/3 if the way up , then add generous amount of rock salt
Pour 1 cup water on the ice , then continue filling up with ice and tick salt until it’s at the top of the bucket .
Put on lid (with paddle) and lock in place
Turn mixer on #1 for a few seconds , then turn up
to 2 or 3
Churn for 30 minutes checking at about 15 minutes (adding ice and rock salt as needed) if ice cream is at the time shut off the unit . If not continue until your 30 minutes are up
Have your containers ready to fill as soon as it stops. Fill and freeze at least 2 hours before eating .
If real hard leave out a few minutes before serving
