We Made a 6 LB Burger for the 4th of July ???

  • 6 pounds of beef. One absurd burger. ?
We're going bigger for the 4th this year. Two patties, three pounds each, a whole loaf of sourdough, and enough cheddar to make it count. This is the kind of burger that turns the cookout into a group project.
Built it. Stacked it. Barely got a bite in.
Here's how to make your own before the fireworks:
    ? 6 lb ground beef
? 6 tbsp The Works Burger Seasoning
    ? 10 slices cheddar cheese
? 1 large round sourdough loaf
? Shredded lettuce, sliced onion, pickles
    America Sauce:
    ? 1 cup mayo
    ? 1/3 cup ketchup
? 3 tbsp Bier Hall Stone Ground Mustard
    ? 1/4 cup pickle juice
    Quick Steps:
    1. Preheat grill for direct heat.
    2. Form the beef into two giant patties, about 3" wider than your loaf (they shrink on the grill).
    3. Season one side generously with The Works Burger Seasoning.
    4. Cut the sourdough loaf into 3 equal rounds.
    5. Mix the America Sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
    6. Grill seasoned side down, then season the top. Cook to your liking.
    7. Add cheddar in the final minutes to melt.
    8. Rest the burgers, toast the bread.
    9. Stack it: bottom bun, sauce, lettuce, onion, pickles, patty, middle bread, sauce, lettuce, onion, pickles, second patty, top.
    10. Now try to take a bite. ??
If you're after a 4th of July burger recipe that actually earns the holiday, this is it. Save it for next weekend.
