Bulgogi recipe below 1.5lb thinly sliced ribeye/sirloin 1/2 onion, thinly sliced 3 shiitake mushrooms, sliced (optional) 2 scallions, cut into 2-inched pieces roots removed 1 tsp roasted sesame seeds Marinade: 1 small apple or Asian pear, peeled 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp agave or honey 1 tbsp sesame oil 1 tbsp mirin 1 tbsp minced garlic 1 tsp grated ginger 1/2 tsp Dashida (Korean beef stock powder, optional) 1/4 tsp ground black pepper 1. Blend all the marinade ingredients until smooth 2. Combine the beef, onion, scallions, and marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour. 3. If using shiitake mushrooms, add them to the pan with the marinated beef. 4. Cook the beef in batches over medium-high heat for 2-4 mins, allowing it to caramelize instead of steam. 5.
