I stepped into a standard double — two twin beds, simple and clean, flat-screen TV on the wall and a small fridge with two soft drinks. The balcony looks over the street and rooftops, not the pool, so it's quieter than the pool-facing rooms guests warn can be loud.

You'll have shops and promenade on the way, and the pool opens at ten in the morning, so early sunbed queues are part of the routine here, as guests note.
